Something odd just happened when I logged on!
by tornapart ini typed in my name, password and the captcha, expecting to see my name come up in the top right corner and what i actually saw was someone else's name!
(the name was another member of this board).
i looked at it for a few seconds feeling a bit puzzled and not sure what to do about it and as i looked it automatically changed (whithout me doing anything) back to my own name.. has anyone else had this happen to them?

Thanks Bangalore growing up in this cult I thought I'd seen it all. Never seen this before I'll read it when I'm board.

Hi all
by Saltheart Foamfollower infirstly, love and greetings to all - i've been lurking here and elsewhere for a long time and have benefitted more than i can say.
i'm still in - i have a genuine fear that coming out would kill my mother - but i've recently taken the first step away.
i told a non-jw friend that i knew it was all a load of nonsense and i didn't believe any of it.

Most Awkward, Embarrassing, Comical things you Experienced as a Witness ?
by flipper inmany of us i'm sure experienced embarrassing or comical moments as a witness.
some things we'd rather just forget , i'm sure, but some things helped us think on our feet, quickly in helping others .
here are a few of mine.

The Governing Bodys irrational fear of the Apostate Boogeyman
by Londo111 inhttp://freeminds2.org/the-theocratic-life-and-times-of-theodore-jaracz/.
i was reading the above article by barbara anderson and was struck that, rather than knowing better, the governing body actually believes in this shadowy organization of former members who are out to attack them.
[jaracz] said that the governing body had been preparing for much longer than anybody could guess for an attack by apostates.

Trying to keep your brain alive is an admiral thing. I read once that by the time the average human is 4 years old he/she has already learned 1/2 of everything they will ever know.

I remember going out with an older 60 something Danish fellow. When we knocked on the screen door a huge german shepherd broke open the door and attacked us. The older Danish brother grabbed the dog by the mouth squeezing the dog's tounge againts his teeth as he lundged, there was a lot of commotion and a lot of blood (all the dogs blood). On a later return visit the dog just cowered when he saw the Danish Brother. You had to be there it was funny.
